UI Stuff and Getting Ready for Testing

This week was mostly UI stuff.

I’ve been pretty slammed with school. Had two 5-page papers, a big discussion post with responses, and another 5-page IEEE paper. So I didn’t have a ton of time to work on the app.

I did what I could with the time I had.

Visual Stuff

Main thing I added was a space background with stars.

There’s some subtle animation now too. Stars twinkle and there’s a shooting star. Nothing crazy, but it fills the empty space and doesn’t feel as dead anymore.

Cleaning Things Up

The screens were already there and the stats were already hard coded. That should change soon.

This Month

This month we start user testing.

That’s probably going to be a bit of a struggle since I’m in Japan right now, so finding people won’t be super easy. Also, since the app is meant for sleep, getting people to actually test it properly on their own phones might be difficult.

We might end up just having people test the sound and masking more casually.

UI will be easy to test, but it’s not really the main part of the app.

Still, it’ll be interesting to see how it actually holds up with real users.

Where It’s At

Right now:

  • UI looks better
  • Added animated background
  • User testing starting

Slow week, but still progress.
